Angela Cameron Fine Art collaborated with Forrest Perkins for the custom artwork at the Metropolitan II—something to add a subtle sophistication to a neutral space. Two large pieces of art were custom-sized for the lobby walls and mounted on aluminum. The artwork has a UV laminate to protect it from the elements and handling, which makes it ideal for public areas.

applied arts magazine bump for Angela Cameron Fine Art: march 2010
Sunday, March 21st, 2010

Applied Arts Magazine: “Cameron’s abstract art combines a modern style, exquisite detail, and a varied colour palette into art that is affordable, but one-of-a-kind. Each piece is created solely by Cameron, and carries her signature. The Angela Cameron website lets designers pick and choose their pieces using a function called, “the project box.” This allows designers to forward their selections to clients. This ground-breaking direct buy process allows designers more flexibility in helping their clients realize the vision they are trying to create, while also allowing providing their clients affordable custom art that is not mass produced.

Angela Cameron has had her work showcased in galleries, in numerous magazines, on HGTV and at the Vancouver Art Gallery among other facilities, and works exclusively with the worldwide hospitality market. During her 20 years behind the camera, she has developed a style and popularity that have garnered her many awards. She is known for her creative skill and photographic technique that does not require post-production manipulation.”

2010 olympic committee thrilled to have Angela Cameron's artwork at the olympic village
Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

It took minutes for the 2010 Vancouver winter games Olympic committee Vanoc, to choose Angela Cameron's fine art photography to decorate the city of Vancouver Mayors Media Room and VIP lounges.

Her signature brand impressed the Olympic organizers to have this artwork showing in the prestigious VIP lounge and the Mayors Media office at the 2010 Winter Games Olympic Village.

The artwork will be viewed by athletes, dignitaries, media and celebrities over the course of the 2010 winter games.

The visceral abstract value of Angela's fine art has also impressed other dignitaries in the interior design world as her work is in galleries and image collections internationally.

Angela Cameron's art has a natural abstract appeal with visual distinction that sets her imagery apart.

The vivid colors and collectors appeal keeps the art worlds attention on her innovative style and emotional hue that her work exudes.

The use of natural subject matter in the abstract without image manipulation to enhance, has added to the style and creator value. An interior designer finishing a project is more likely to select an original Angela Cameron as opposed to a company reselling poster art.

New artwork and presentation methods are constantly being created to enable her team to collaborate with clients on their latest projects.

The Olympic committee is thrilled with the "neon grass" images that compliment the Olympic colors of blue & green, while the "abstract circles" triptych pay a creative tribute the Olympic symbol.  All the pieces are transmounted on 1/4" acrylic (photographic print mounted behind acrylic) and the "neon grass" artwork has a clear edge left all around. When displayed 1 inch apart as a triptych grouping, the "abstract circles" make stunning visual impact.

Angela Cameron personally represents her fine art photographic creations to interior designers in hospitality, healthcare and corporations.

Name: Angela Cameron.

Business: Angela Cameron Fine Art, West Vancouver.

Contact: inquiries@angelacameron.com; (604)926-6993.

Team: 2 full-time, one part-time.

Time in business: Four years,

What is your business? My fine art caters specifically to interior design for restaurants, hotels, corporations and personal clients. I create fine art photography and do it in a fresh, new way, and then customize the image to suit each designer's specifications.

How did you get started? I was a professional Nurse/ pro photographer in Winnipeg for 20 years and I quit nursing 41/2 years ago to pursue this particular business. I have always been creating innovative photography -- I've won numerous awards ,even asked to teach and judge. I did a lot of research into what interior designers were looking for. I was confident and knew I could make this work as a business, so I sold my house, moved and started to develop my unique niche market.

What got you interested in fine art photography? ART- Lots of art. Monet was one of my favorites. His influence is apparent in my unphotoshopped images that I create in my camera. I attended classes for painting in acrylic media at Emily Carr. In my early 20s, I was introduced to fine art photography through my drawing and painting. I picked up a camera and I was hooked after winning a few creative photography contests in Winnipeg.

Where do you create your fine art photographs? I travel frequently and try to look at natural subjects in a unique way. I have some favorite locations: beaches, Van Dusen Gardens, Stanley Park. I'm always looking for new images. I don't manipulate my images; I'm taking a photo of tree, for instance, and doing it in a unique way.

What makes your art different?  By reinforcing the brand, the quality, and its authenticity.  Art itself is in the eye of the beholder. Right now there are many beholders worldwide that have already collected my work.I have thousands of different fine art images on my Website, and I can print them in any size. They can be eight feet long to hang behind a bed in a hotel room or mounted for group display in a restaurant. Most of the images I sell are mounted behind Plexiglass -- not much is matted and framed. I also mount them on glass, aluminum, and I'm testing a bamboo mounting. It looks very modern, which my work suits quite well. Another really popular item is the backlit art.It really makes the art "pop"!

What do you like most about your business?  Being treated like a business entrepreneur with an outstanding art product as you would an architect or an interior designer. If you talk about pursuing your passion, this is it.  Recognition by a client from Monte Carlo and hearing about our artwork in the lobby of one of the top boutique hotels ranks up there! The look of joy on interior designers faces when they realize that they can incorporate our custom work into their plans right from the get-go. And not have to rush near the end of the project "just to get some art on the walls" It always looks better when it is a collaborative process

How has your business been doing as a result of the economic turn?
Better than ever- consultants, clients and designers have realized that they can buy direct and save a lot by working directly with us and eliminating steps. We complete the whole process of the creation, to shipping, even hanging the work.

What do you like the least about this business?    I have an issue with the people that are making more money from the art than the artist themselves. The creator of the art should be properly compensated for their talent and honest, hard work.

Future plans? Other than continuing to add more fine art images to my portfolio and creating new sensations by breaking the conventional rules of fine art photography presentation and design.

What advice for aspiring designers and creatives do you have? -Break the Rules of conventional thought and processes.

Vancouver seems to only embrace contemporary style artwork. I didn't know anyone in the innovative modern design world here, but I knew I could make it work, and this year has been huge. The new clients that we have made here have welcomed us with open eyes. It's a lot of work, but I love the creative aspect of it.My many international clients have outnumbered the local ones as a result of the rule breaking style that I have and their keen eye has recognized the value of my work.
