A master of abstraction through her camera, Cameron’s work gives a sense of light, texture and depth that offers a unique perspective of our natural world. Coming through the era of darkroom and slide film, Cameron welcomed the digital revolution embracing it all of its forms. The interpretive, impressionistic aspect of abstract photography gave Cameron her artistic vision of a place, through her intuitive process. Focusing on light forms, colour and subtle graduations the photographs convey emotion and connection seen beyond the obvious.
Angela Cameron’s creative journey is a distinctive blend of digital painting and photography, where each technique inform and enhance the other. Her camera not merely a tool for capturing images but as an instrument for crafting visual narratives, at a variety of locations and subject matter. Her images explore the interplay of light, texture, and emotion, inviting us to engage with the subtle nuances of subjects, including landscapes, botanicals, ocean and graphics. Cameron seeks to evoke a sense of place and observation, to discover a deeper connection between the subject and the observer.
Digital paintings are expressive reflections of mood, place, and texture. Using layered textures and a painterly instinct rooted in her years of photographic dedication, each piece invites a new way of seeing how this new innovative medium of digital art is impactful.
Photography remains a vital part of Cameron’s creative practice. With a deep sensitivity to light, atmosphere, and composition, her photographic work ranges from poetic landscapes to ocean seascapes, water details and graphic colourful compositions. Each art image is created with intention, inviting the viewer to reflect, pause, and reconnect with a new visual idea.
